Issues with ATIHPP 2012 Universal Restore
First, some unfinished business – I guess I didn’t respond to Scott Hieber and GroverH in a timely manner on forum 26368 – This was because I was hospitalized for a time – I would like you to revue my responses at the end of that forum if you have the time – I did try to answer all your suggestions –
Now to the reason for this post – Since last year I have been in contact with Acronis support – This started with a chat with a person named Bishwajit Choudhary , emails from Tulsa Saha and also Aliya Rakimgulova in Acronis management – She assigned a senior tech named Deepak Kaul to help me with my issues – It seems I should have purchased ATIH 2012 but instead bought ADD11 Home – This is very long and involved including two more techs, Pankaj Parmar and Nakul Bhoj, the last who provided a copy of PP free since I had already invested over $100 and needed the Plus Pack to do the job. (they said). This resulted in a contact from Ed Banack, Chief Customer Officer, and since I figured all was well thanked him and Acronis for their support (This in Jan)
The project is to migrate my W XP Home to my W 7 Home Premium x64 AO722 –BZ454 netbook in a dual boot system – There is much info on this but the bottom line is Universal Restore will not install the proper ACHI storage drivers provided by AMD for W XP x86 – Believe me, I have tried every method (bkup on USB, on NAS, etc) –
I get three error msgs at the end of the Recovery as follows –
It wants the following drivers :
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&SUBSYS_05981025&REV_00 for Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
This is repeated two more times for DEV_4396 an DEV_4397.
I thought I had seen this before in System Information for the W7 on this netbook – They are under Storage > IDE for 4391 and the USB tab for 4396 and 4397 shown as PNP drivers – According to the Acronis documentation I read, they don’t use PNP drivers in UR – Go figure
Also, I found a lot of other Acronis forum posts about ATIHPP 2012 – It seems the 2011 version UR works but 2012 doesn’t – Also, you have a very difficult time getting it off you machine (see Forum 27907 and the info from Richard Virtue) also the errors in Forum 28992 look a lot like mine (Classpnp.sys issue) This error info is normally in the .inf file under ‘manufacturer’ from what I’ve read – So I don’t get it—
Any help appreciated,
Papa John
