Just did update to ver 6597 now it crashes
I have True Image Home 2011, just updated to ver 6597. The program will not start. I tried using the "repair", and it failed. I tried to remove it and it will not remove from the system, even using the Control Panel I can not remove it. Anynone have a clue on this. Win 7x64. Error log attached. Thanks.

I had 2010, upgraded to 2011 and today downloaded the 6597 ver. and it has been downhill since. I have tired everything to unistall, Safe Mode, etc. nothing works, it starts and then stops.

According to your log file, it has found a trial version previously installed. I'll have a deeper look when I get home tonight.

My expereince with upgrades and/or new builds has taught me two things:
1) *Always* create an image of your pre-upgrade system with your current working ATIH.
2) *Always* completely remove any previous version or build using whatever tools Acronis provides (check the forums to see if the cleanup util you need to use actually works) or Revo.
These two pre-upgrade/upbuild steps will serve you well. Shouldn't be this way, but it is.

Forewarned, forearmed, however, what a mess this programs has created. I am not sure I will stay with this program, there should be an easy to remove and no jumping through hoops.

Late response, but it's worth saying that a successful install of 2011 results in a decent experience. I'm actually enjoying this version. It somehow seems more responsive and seamless. Too bad about some glaring. 'what were they thinking?' oversights in the interface, but I can live with them, and hopefully they'll correct them.

Agree with MH.
Rick, you could try this clean up tool, reboot and reinstall:

Hello all,
I would like to thank everyone for their posts and your kind help.
Rick, I will do my best to assist you.
Were you able to use the clean up utility that Pat L suggested and try re-installing the program? Did it help at all?
Are there any hard drives on your system encrypted with Bitlocker? Can you please send me a screenshot of the error and AcronisInfo report so that I can assist you with this issue?
Looking forward to hearing from you and if you have additional questions please let me know.
Thank you.

I finally got it unistalled, re-stalled, but what a royal pain! I have been using Acronis for the last few years and never had this kind of experience. Aside from this issue, I have noticed that if I make one change to a file in a folder, that when I go to make a differential, it backs up the whole folder, what is happening with that? Thanks.
