keeps getting paused
I have a ver.11, and a continuous backup set, it's been running fine for several months, and now all of sudden it keeps pausing. i tried restarting the service, it starts a tray pops up, says it started and almost immediately the tray popup changes to paused...
don't know what to do, please help

I have the same problem. And no, my system isn't getting overloaded at all. I have an Intel i7 core prosessor, so in other words, i have 8 logical cores that stay between 0-10% when idle. This shouldn't be considered an overload. So why is my non-stop protection pausing itself?

Keefe,
Which version of ATI do you have? NSB was infamous for stopping with 2010, but seems OK in version 2011.

Same problem here. Any solutions so far? Problem occurred some days after installing the program.

nope, and it seems that the software comes with an additional charge, 9.99 for support, because it doesn't seem like there is another way of resolving it

Its a Radeon Mobility HD 5870. Although, I'm sure that it has it's own GPU, so it doesn't use the CPU. And whats NSB?

Non Stop Backup is NSB

Ah, ok. So what about my graphics card? You think it's the problem here?

I don't think your graphics card could be an issue, frankly.

I've got a similar problem. NSB doesn't load when I boot and stays paused when I try to start NSB manually. I have plenty of room on my backup disk (and even if I didn't shouldn't there be a warning message of some kind?). I also have plenty of system resources.

Oh, sorry! When you asked what version of ATI I have, I thought you were talking about my graphics cards, since that's what the abbreviation ATI is for. XD;; sorry! I have Arconis True Image 2011 Home Edition

Sorry about the ATI confusion :-)
So you have the latest version and build?
If yes, I would try to delete the NSB backup task, uninstall, reboot and resintall.
PS: I personally would always consider NSB as a redundant backup. i.e, I always have a disk and partition or a file backup that I can go back to if NSB doesn't work as intended: you cannot validate an NSB, you cannot control automatically the space it takes, and sometimes, it acts up...

I think so...it's Update 2, Build 6868. And NSB was actually what Windows set up (since the two are integrated into each other). Besides, it means that I don't have to constantly remember to back up my personal files, but maybe I'll have to start doing that also. XP

What do you mean?

You should! ATI might give you a sense it is fire and forget, but you should always:
- make sure you have a working recovery CD, that you have tested,
- make sure you have an all-partition disk and partition backup. This is what you need to recover your system
- complement that backup with other backups like a file backup, and (not or) NSB, email backup
- diversify your backup destinations, so that all your backups are not on the same disk,
- validate your backups on a regular basis, so that they dont' go bad.

Same problem here. Not very happy with this, and chat support is SOOOOO SLOOOOW.

What I mean is the backups that Windows 7 sets up. It sets up one for the critical Windows data, and then also a backup for your personal data. Because Arconis was integrated, it's what took over from there. But removing the NSB and re-initializing it has it working again. Thank you! ^^ It's just for a backup solution, I want power, but yet the problem is, I can't always find the time to backup stuff, because I'm usually using my computer. I know it can backup in the background, but even that slows your computer down. Its not always the processor usage you need to worry about, but your disk speeds also.

Right.
For a file or disk and partition backup you can set ATI to use a lower amount of computer resources, not for NSB.
