Kernel Panic booting with rescue media

Thread needs solution

Hi, I get a kernel panic - not syncing: stack-protector when I try booting with a rescue media usb drive.

I am trying to make a backup of a brand new, never booted laptop (I like to keep factory disk images). This means booting up into Windows to install ATI would defeat the purpose of a making a factory image, hence I'm using a bootable rescue media USB flash drive.

When the USB drive boots, it shows me a window to select between ATI and collect system information. No matter which choice I pick, I always get the same error during the linux boot phase (see attached picture).

I have tried the following:

- recreated the boot rescue media
- tried using a different USB drive
- tried using a different USB port on the laptop
- downloaded a fresh copy of ATI 2013 and created fresh rescue media

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite U840 Ultrabook. It has a 32GB SSD and a 500GB HDD.

Thanks,

Vasco

Hello Vasco.

Thank you for your post on our Forum!

First of all please boot in media in command-line without starting an Acronis product. To do this on Acronis boot selection press F11 and delete the word “quite”. Instead of “quite” please add the command acpi=off noapic →”OK”. Start booting, the media will bring you to command-line. Please add the command /bin/product.

Vasco, if it does not work please contact our Support Team.

If you have any additional questions, I will be glad answer it.

Thank you.
