Length of Time to Backup

Thread needs solution

I can't believe this is correct. I'm trying to backup a 40 GB hard drive and it tell me it's going to take 6+ days! I've set it for high performance.

I'm new at this, so I must be doing something wrong. I might believe it if I was on dial-up.

If this is the case, can anyone refer me to a source of information to help me know what files and folders I should back up, and I won't try the full disk backup.

I upgraded from 2014 and find that 2015 is abysmally slow. 2+ days to perform backups imported during the upgrade from 2014 which took 2.5 hours for full backups and 30 min. for incremental backups.

Have you checked the resulting file size? Letting it run its (slow) course on a very fast SSD, I ended up with a file size that indicates a sector-by-sector backup was done. (Note that I wasn't able to directly check the file size while the archive was actually being created--it said 0 bytes--but I could track how much the destination drive disk capacity decreased by during the process, which provided a realtime measurement.
