Linux rebooting before GRUB

Hello i'm new here and my english is not that good so i'm sorry about any mistakes you might notice...
Here is the thing, i've been using Acronis 2011 CD to create an image of Linux Educacional 5.0 (Based on UBUNTU 12.04) and we need to install it in computers that had Linux Educacional 3.0 (Based on Kubuntu 8.04).
For some reason at the moment you finish to install the image from acronis it
will reboot everytime before even gets to GRUB...

But before i attemp to follow that tutorial, i wanna know if there is any other way to prepare Linux for an image?
Like doing sysprep in Windows, if does, it would be easier than follow all those steps above!
