Login information is not correct
I've got Acronis True Image 2009 on a Win 7/64-bit OS laptop. I want to backup files located on another computer on the network. It is a Windows Server 2008 machine. I used to do this on my old Windows XP machine and it worked just fine. I have tried all sorts of combinations of the user name and password, but none of them work. I KNOW that the user name and password are correct, because I can go to the servers files from my laptop (\\server\someresource), and it works just fine (I provided the correct UN/PW to do so). However, when I try to back it up, I'm told "The login information is not valid. Are you sure you want to continue?" I told it yes, but it still did not backup. I've tried "Server\Administrator", "MyLaptop\Administrator", and just plain "Administrator" as the user name, and none of these worked.
How do I get passed this?
Thanks,
Jesse

Jesse,
In addition to what bodgy has stated, normally your error message relates to the task schedule screen and the login and password must be what you use to login to the laptop with. When you visit the schedule screeen, you will see the user name is autofilled in and you just need to supply the password.

Using build 9,796.
No, I wasn't aware that some parts of TI2009 might not work with W7. So, what you're telling me is I have to pay for an upgrade?
That doesn't make any sense that I'd have to fill in the user name and password for my laptop for the backup when I'm trying to backup a different machine.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Most likely, the password it should be looking for would be the Windows logini password used by the person who originally created the task.

I'm the one that originally created the task, and I'm sure that I'm using the right user name and password for the machine I'm trying to back up. If it's looking for the local user name and password, then it's probably not right then.
Anyway, I've just upgraded to TI2010 to see if it resolves some of the other problems I'm having. I'm working on my local laptop backup first, and if that works, I'll continue to take care of the server backup and see if the issue is resolved then.
