Many Backups

Thread needs solution

It's been so long since I set up backups that I don't remember what it's doing. I have a whole series of backups on my machine taking up too much space and I wondered if it is safe to delete the older ones. They are nested but it appears that they are repeating backups every month. Each one contains documents and folders from the C drive. Then I see windows 7 is also making images.

You can load ati, edit the settings for the backup task and see what the settings are. You find find out how to delete backups in the userguide, but basically, you can delete tibs you don't want. Recall that for any inc chain, you need all previous files in the set for them to work for restoring.

Thank you. that helped me get to the resolution quickly. I had been backing up full versions and my 700 GB drive was nearly overloaded. Now it's nearly empty.

If you set up your backup scheme to keep x number of full backups, you can have the program monitor itself so it always has room by deleting the older *.tib backups.
