Media Builder is not installed ...

Thread needs solution

I am having problems with TIH 2012. When I launch it, using the icon on my desktop, I get an error message saying TIH is not installed. I went to the website and downloaded the latest version. Installation proceeds all the way to the end, giving me the "installation successful" screen. Then I get an error message that "Acronis Media Builder is not installed". There are no options other than OK. After that, I get the same error message when I try to launch TIH 2012 ... TIH is not installed.

Can anyone give me some help here? Thanks in advance ...

Did you have a previous version of Acronis True Image Home? In that case you need to un-install it before installing 2012, upgrade has some install problems when the older version is present. Procedure:

- Uninstall Acronis True Image Home 2012
- Uninstall previous versions of Acronis True Image Home, latest first (i.e. in reverse order)
- Install Acronis True Image Home 2012

I did have TIH 2011 installed. I uninstalled it and installed TIH 2012. It was operating "okay" but I could not update it. Somewhere I believe I have some old vestiges that did not get uninstalled. I even tried the utility to do a clean uninstall but that would not run.

Is there a way for me to easily do a manual uninstall OR at least delete the registry items that cause the software to not install properly. I have been a longtime customer and paid a lot of money to have a backup system that does not work.

There seems to be a lot of problems with TIH 2012, more so than with previous versions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks again.

Not sure how much this will help.

The normal install file can be downloaded and rerun. After selecting install, you should be given an options window to
Modify
Repair.

First choose the modify and make sure the Acronis Boot media creater is checkmarked for installation.
Next, choose the repair option and let the repair run.

If that does not provide a fix, another option would be to
Restore one of your 2011 backups and then run the 2012 iinstall again.
Check to make sure the Bootable media creater is checked for installation
Choose the repair if you have that option.

If that does not provide a fix, another option would be to
REstore one of your 2011 backups and then use the 2011 cleanup utiilty
Rerun the 2012 install.

Hope this helps.
