Migrate Easy 7 versus True Image

Thread needs solution

1. Trying to move Windows 7 Ultimate OS and stuff from a large hard drive to a smaller SSD and boot from the SSD.
2. Selecting the right product "WIZARD" is too vanilla to be useful in determing the correct and best product for this task.
3. True Image does not seem to have partition options to handle the from larger hard disk to a smaller SSD?
4. Cannot find how to open CHAT to get some input on this task.
5. So, I am posting on the TRUE IMAGE forum to get some input on this task of comparing True Image versus Migrate Easy 7 with hopefully some help with the task.
6. I know I can change the BIOS to force booting from the SSD but don't know if the Acronis products automatically change the drive letter from my current "C" boot drive to the new SSD with a drive letter "C"?

Waiting for input on the SSD questions and also how to open CHAT.

True Image includes Migrate Easy and is known as it's 'cloning ' feature.

If you have TI then you won't need Migrate Easy.

TI can resize on restore.

I haven't played with an SSD as yet so am unsure if there are any pitfalls to look out for, however there have been other users who have used SSD's here some have had problems others haven't.

To access chat (it's well hidden):

Click on the Support button top right of this forum.

Log into your Acronis account.

Click on Support from the left side selection index)

Click on the large orange button START HERE

Select Technical Issue with product.
Select Product type from the drop down box.
Click on RECOVER as the problem - the link to Chat will then appear. Do not select the other option, the chat link isn't on that list.

Next sit down and have a well earned cup of tea brought to your armchair!

Thanks for the comment. After a long CHAT with Sumit Reddy at Acronis, we decided that True Image Home 2010 with the correct features selected will do the job of moving my "C" files plus the OS (Windows 7 Ultimate) to my new SSD and then using the BIOS selection for the booting from the SSD. The TI software will make a TIB file for restoring on my SSD. It is preferable if the size of the "C" drive is smaller than the size of the SSD. We believe that not using sector to sector copying in TI will avoid sector errors when restoring the TIB file on my SSD. I had a hard time explaining the sector error potential to Sumit Reddy. Don't know why Acronis makes CHAT so difficult to find and use?

PSS: Also found that Migrate Easy 7 not really an option since it shows not to support Windows 7 Ultimate and that rules out that selection. Acronis has a free trial of TI before buying that I will use. Also, a review of GHOST and TI on the Web definitely says to AVOID GHOST at all costs since it has big errors and terrible product support.
