Move ASZ to new HD?

Thread needs solution

Is it possible? The current HD I have solely for the ASZ isn't big enough any more. I am buying a new 4TB drive to use as the ASZ.

If it possible to move the contents of the existing ASZ to the new HD which will then become the sole ASZ.

I'm curious. What in your opinion is the value of using the AZZ on a separate drive?

If you have ASZ on a separate disc, then if your 'in use' disc goes to the great computer in the sky you have your backed up data safe.

Case in point. My D Drive's (data only) control board packed up. Without the ASZ on a different drive I would have lost the lot

A disk mode backup or a files and folders backup to an external hard drive will accomplish the same objective. Multiple external drives can be swapped in and out if the need is there. You want to read this older post http://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/external-backup-drive-full-after… for one backup strategy. I did a search and you can move the contents of the ASZ not the ASZ itself. See https://forum.acronis.com/forum/44074

Thanks for the link Thomas. That looks exactly what I want.

I understand the value of a separate drive. In fact I recommend it. What I don't understand is why you'd want the added complexity of the Acronis Secure Zone. I do not see the value, especially given the risks.

What are the risks?
