multi-boot system cloning
I have a system with tih2010 and dd10 that is setup with vista 64bit, the original system restore partition, win7 64 bit, and win7 32 bit. All works with OS selector and choosing any operating system to launch.
I want to move to another hard drive, same size as original but different vendor. I also want to upgrade to tih2011, plus pack, and dd11 to ensure windows 7 compatability. But, I'm not going to touch the original drive for upgrading the acronis software.
I've tried cloning the drives directly to each other, unplugging the original, then rebooting and none of the OS's will boot after that. I've tried the backup to an external USB drive and restore. I've used the bootable media for ti2011 and the plus pack. Neither of these options seemed to work.
Haven't tried ghost yet, but I will tonight. Drives are 1Tb sata drives in an HP desktop.
What is the best option for cloning a multi-boot hard drive? Do i really need to use EASYBCD or modify the windows boot files?

I tried it from all 3 boot cds. Disk director 11, TIH2011, TIH2011 plus pack. I was doing all of the backups from the CD bootup. I was able to make Paragon work by doing HDD and partition raw processing. Sector by sector. Whay does it take to make Acronis work this way? A bit of a pain when you are making an image of a 1TB drive and it doesn't work after several hours of waiting.
