multiple trueimage.exe processes running

Thread needs solution

Installed 2012 build 6154 and discovered when I backed up operating system, email, and other folders, each time I exited trueimage it left trueimage.exe process running for each time I exited the App. When I choose to close the computer down I must end each process before I can shut down. Anyone have this problem??

I guess acronis doesn't care whether they give a customer any support or not. I ahve had case 01453085 open since I bought their product and they haven't hardly any support. My advice is too let all your friend know that acronis support is almost nonexistant.

Fastest method for support is through Chat. But to save time I'd try this:

use msconfig to disable all non-microsoft services and all statrt up programs
reboot
Uninstall ati
reboot
reinstall ati
reboot
If working now, then use msconfig to return to normal startup.
If not working, then contact Chat and have your case number handy.

Just installed ATI 2012 & have the same problem. Task manager shows that True Image.exe is still running. Have to kill it in task manager. I’ve been using ati since 8 & never had anything like this.
The previous V10 was uninstalled ,the registry was cleaned out manually & every remaining folder was deleted. This was as clean a install as possible.

Got fed up with all the problems so I unistalled it & cleaned everything out.Folders, registry ect. & reinstalled ATI 2010 which has always worked fine. Email support got me nowhere. The wost Acronis software I’ve ever run in to & I’ve started with ATI 6.

I just installed ATI Home 2012 over ATI 11 with dreadful results. After manually deleting what I could find of ATI 11 and running the ATI Home 2012 Cleanup Utility, the product installed but appear to loop, with the installer loading the ATI Home 2012 multiple time before it completed. The CPU is running at 100% with the two trueimage.exe processes using most of the CPU and driving the disk to saturation.

I hope others can delete ASI Home 2012, run the ATI Home 2012 Cleanup Utility, then restarting. Watch the install carefully - does it appear to finish installing, then start over and install it a 2nd time with warnings about duplicate file? Please post your results.

I am going to remove the program completely again, then run MSCONFIG to see if duplicate entries still appear in the Startup.

William,
Probably the easiest recovery would be for you to boot from the TI Bootable media CD and restore one of your most recent backups so your system can be brought back to the same condition it was prior to the 2012 install.

You mention ATI 11. Do you truly mean the older version 11 or the more recent version 2011?

The old version was installed, not 2011.

I don't have a backup with which to restore. The backup had stopped running in 2010 and I didn't notice.

After leaving the previous post, I have been removing old code and registry entries. I wish there was a ATI 11 Cleanup tool. Even after removing what I can find, I am still getting startup errors about True Image Scheduler having startup problems after rebooting.

Willaim,
The free version of Revo installer could be of some assistance in removing registry residue.

If you use this program, the uninstall begins from inside Revo and Revo starts by using the Acronis uninstaller.
Afterwards, do not reboot but use the advanced settings provided by REvo options to remove all of Acronis.

I have not used the free version for awhile so I am going from memory.

I would suggest you boot from the whatever TrueImage bootable CD you have and take a backup of your current situation.
You definitely need a backup so you can get back to this point--should there be a need. Any time you are changing the registry, you run the risk of the computer not booting so having a current backup (even of this condition) would be better than no backup and this can be done from the CD.
