My solution for Error E000101F4 "NO HARD DISKS AVAILABLE"

Thread needs solution

I have just built a new computer based on ASUS P8 Z68-V PRO. An intel socket 1155 with 8Gb RAM.

To use ACRONIS True Image 11 which I had on the old system caused the error to show when booting from Recovery CD Disk. i.e. "No disks".

It was alright under Windows XP professionall running from desktop to backup, recover, validate and create tasks etc.

SOLUTION:- To run Acronis from desktop and to be able to boot up in normal windows set the BIOS SATA MODE to be IDE (NOT AHCI).

Under Widows Acronis will initialise and check all the disks and partitions.

To boot from the Recovery CD I needed first to change BIOS and set the SATA MODE to be AHCI (NOT IDE).

I will now set up 2 bios profiles 1 = Acronis in Windows
and Profile 2 = Acronis CD Recovery Boot.

Then pressing DEL to get into BIOS and select the one I need.

Hope this helps.
