Need to make space on SAN by deleting some old backups - how to do it?

Folks,
I cannot see on the 2012 tabbed desktop an obvious way of clearing out old backups and earlier generations of backups.
I have been using incremental backups.
My laptop C: drive only used 97Gb (including applications)
My Backups add up to 490GB and are mostly data.
Any help would be appreciated.
