I have TI 2009 scheduled to do backups in Win7. Every so many it creates a new full backup and removes the old. Odd thing is it did this without creating a new full backup. I need the backups to restore to a HDD. Any idea how to recover this file(s)?

I've tried a few recovery programs like Recuva, GetDataBack and another big name and nothing. Does anyone know how Acronis handles removing backup files/images. I'm surprised I cannot find anything.

Most of the time, recovering an image file intact is not possible. You would need perfect conditions for it to work. If the file was deleted from a running Windows system, it probably got overwritten quickly (perhaps within seconds). One of the problems is that image files are so large and if even one bit is wrong, it's corrupted.

If possible, it's a good idea to keep copies of important images on separate drives.
