network authentication fails

Thread needs solution

I back up over our company network to the company network drives. My system password changed recently and my backup hasn't happened since then because it cannot connect to the network. How do I:

1) change the network password through Acronis? When I set up the backup, it asks for my username/password. But I cannot figure out how to change it after the back up is going.

2) the current backups keep going and I can't seem to stop them even though I know it's just hanging at the credential verification step. I keep pressing stop and it just won't stop. Any recommendations? Exiting and restarting the computer only brings me back to the same problem and it just keeps saying it is "calculating time remaining". It just won't stop.

Thanks.

Also, this same message was posted here via Chrome and the forum spam filter expunged it. Now posting throught IE is okay. Why so silly?

I don't want to clean up the credentials within Windows. I want to clean them within Acronis so that I can update the new password. There doesn't seem to be a way to do it without creating a new backup and I can't seem to backup now because the old one keeps running and I can't stop it.

In the supplied link read the eighth bullet point. If you access the cleanup wizard and unselect everything but the User Credentials then choose cleanup this should remove your previous network credentials and allow you to replace them with your new credentials. Your scheduled backups should then run successfully.

You should be able to stop the running backup attempt by using Windows search by searching for services.msc, open that file and look for Acronis Scheduler2 Service (AcrSch2Svc). Temporarily stop this service should halt the backup attempt.

Thanks! One of those two actions allowed me to create a new backup (weekly) that seems to have worked, but I'm still not able to get my separate non-stop backup to work. It keeps stopping on its own. I'm not sure how to fix that. Also, when I try to open Acronis, the program, I can't get the window to pop up. The computer thinks for a bit after I click allow when the user control window pops up , then nothing happens. I get the Acronis window up once every 10 tries or so. Any suggestions on that?
