Network backup crashes ATIH 2013

Thread needs solution

I am trying to backup a Notebook PC over my home network to a 2 TB drive system running in the next room with plenty of space. I can copy back and forth under Windows 7 with no issue.

As soon as I try a backup with ATIH2013, it wants credentials, which I supply, and then the system crashes. Yes, the target directory is shared and easily reachable via the notebook under Windows.
(1) should this work?
(2) If it should, then what should I be looking for?

I was all set to recommend this product for this very purpose in a scientific lab with MANY PC's, but if I can't get it to work at home, I really doubt I could get it to work in the lab.

Unless resolved, hundreds of potential licenses will not be going to Acronis.

Craig,

Do both PCs require a user login?

Are you accessing the network storage via UNC or IP addressing?

Have you tried deleting the credentials in Windows Credential Manager and starting again?

Are there any local or group policies on any of your machines that might prevent imaging over a network?

In answer to your question, yes this should work.

I would suggest though that you might want to look at ABR11.5 Workstation, this is a little more flexible and aimed at a many machines to a central archive.

If you are using the trial version (of either product) you are entitled to Acronis support via the Acronis Chat webpage. Make sure that the trial serial number is registered in your account.
