"Never ending backup" to Seagate Backup Plus external drive

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image Home 2012, Update 2.1, Build 7133 - when I backup onto a Seagate Backup Plus external drive, it goes on for hours and never completes the backup process. It continues to 103% and 107% and just keeps going. Other backups to my other hard drives complete without any issues. What's the probelm with backing up to Seagate external drives?

Normally when you have a task that reports over 100% completion, Acronis is performing a consolidation of backup files and can take many hours to do so depending on the number and size of the existing backup files.
I would suggest as a test, that you create a new backup task pointing to a new empty folder on the Seagate drive, leaving the default settings (no validation / incremental / normal compression). This will create a full backup when run the first time, and give you an idea about how long the backup should take.
If you are having issues only with this drive, you may need to see if you have performace isues while copying files to it using Windows Explorer to eliminate or pin point transfer rate issues.
Be sure you have the drive connected directly to a USB port, not through a hub. Also if connected to a USB3.0 port and you have USB2.0 ports available, try connecting to the USB2.0 port to see if there is any difference.
