New build 7119

Thread needs solution

Hello. I had the habit of using T.I. build 6154 and updated to build 7119. Unhappily, it seems to me some changes supposed to be a progress are nuisances, or I missed something? I explain: First the "non stop backup service" which in started by defaut. (not a real problem in fact as it may easily be suppressed. Secund: The "scheduler service" which is by default, not stopable and a real nuisance if you don't need it, as it prevent the manipulation of backup .tib files (rename or deletion) . Of course I may have missed something. I know it can be managed with the help of "scheduler manager", why not an option in the program? Anyway, for this reasons I returned to build 6154 awaiting for eventual tips. Another thing which concern this last build too, the list of .tib backups is verified every time T.I. is started and it is rather long even if you don't need it. (if you manage the names and dates of backups by yourself for instance). There is an option case to click but it seemed it had no effect?

Information please if possible, thanks.

PSCD... I have also ran into major problems with build 7119. Any backup images in the pre-windows F11 mode fail and I have posted on that one. In your case, I believe that if you open windows services, locate scheduler service, stop that from running, then open the drop down box and put it on "manual" that will keep it from auto starting. Or download Startup CPL where you can stop it from running at Windows startup as well. I posted a request as to how to stop the autosearch for tib files at the program startup, received not an answer. I read one post that stated that feature could not be turned off, total wrong answer! So, I did my own search as to how to disconnect that feature and was successful! My problem was like yours, Acronis did not locate any on my hard drive as they do not exist. However, it took minutes for Acronis to stop searching. Then if an external drive or USB was attached, it searched that as well, thus creating a long list of tibs.

Here is the fix: Open Acronis, then the restore tab, then click on the options icon in the upper right corner. You will then see "search for tibs" and it will look greyed out. Click on that option, close Acronis, re-open Acronis and viola, no more irritating and time consuming searched for tib backup files. You would think that this option would be in the manual or something. I discovered it by doing my own tech support..

Hope this helps...

Hi,

List of Changes says User Guide and Help are changed... But if I download the current User Guide, it's for Update 1! And in the currently installed help I can't find anything about the new features.

When will documentation and help be changed?

Hello Ray Torella. Thanks for the answer.
Bad luck, I already tried to stop the "scheduler" first by way of "msconfig" then by the "Windows service" ("manua"l first then "disabled": unsuccess with "manual", it work with "disabled" BUT, you got a warning popup you can't get rid off, inacceptable. There is a Acronis utility called "scheduler manager" but it is command line which need to be used every time you want to change the default if I understood correctly . So it seem this build have been created following programers ideas but not thinking to the user needs. As for the option you found to choose not to call the search of backups, il should be part of a menu.
Bye, have a good day
