New Consolidation Entries in Log File

Thread needs solution

I am now starting to see these following messages appear in my backup logs.

9 Information 02/03/2013 06:22:44 Consolidate Backup Archive Location: "I:\OS_(C)_full_b92_s1_v4.tib" Destination: "I:\OS_(C)_full_b92_s1_v4_ABA62128-7C58-4465-985E-EB597E283A2E.tib"
10 Information 02/03/2013 06:22:44 Consolidate Backup Archive Location: "I:\OS_(C)_full_b92_s1_v4.tib" Destination: "I:\OS_(C)_full_b92_s1_v4_ABA62128-7C58-4465-985E-EB597E283A2E.tib"

The backup type is Full with the Keep Size ... automatic cleanup active. The backup has been working correctly for months, deleting older backups as it approached the size limit.

Now I am getting these extra consolidation log entries and I don't know why.

Any help appreciated.

The line is duplicated - Acronis needs to fix that issue.

You will find that any incrementals that were part of the backup chain have been deleted but what ATIH does NOT say it what the current state of the full backup is.

Is it just the full backup that was taken on day 1

or

Is it the full backup consolidated with the latest incremental that belonged to that backup set.

Your guess is as good as mine on this - Acronis logging still needs a LOT of improvement. (3 years down the line and still a lot missing/incorrect)

It is triggered by the automatic clean up and the settings you have made on that screen. ATIH does appear to honour the settings made.

I hope that helps.

Thanks, RayG.

The automatic cleanup by size has always worked fine and the log has always reported when it has had to delete a backup due to the set going over the size limit.

Just never seen the Consolidate log entries before, so that had me confused.
