Is New Home 2010 Dependable And With No Bugs?

Thread needs solution

I have been using version TI ver.8 for some years now and would like to update for reason of the encryption capability. However, I've read so many reports in here of buggy versions, I'm worried about getting a big problem. Version 8.826 has worked perfectly from the start. It has *never* malfunctioned in the slightest way.

Is the new version of 2010 totally dependable?

I imagine I could download a trial, but that tells me nothing over the long haul.

I guess I could also save an image with ver. 8 to one of my other drives to be recovered with a reinstall of ver 8 if the Home 2010 punks out on me.

I have been using TI 2009 for along time. I decided to upgrade to 2010 because of the special email price. My computer is quite ancient (2005) and that might have something to do with 2010 giving me problems. After installation I created recovery disk and booted up with it. I wasn't needing to restore a backup I was just testing. Well on the recovery screen it was detecting 2 of my hard drives as CD drives and my CD drives were showing as removable drives. Here's the kicker, my system (C) drive was showing as D drive and one of my backup drives (internel) was showing as my system (C) drive. At this point I felt it unwise to continue my testing as I couldn't be sure which hard drive my backup image would be restored too. I contacted support and my first reply was to uninstall and reinstall. That did not work. I was not going to get into a lengthy repair process with customer support so I reinstalled TI 2009 which works flawlessly everytime I have installed it with no need to adjust anything and emailed Acronis to honor their money back guarantee. I can't say enough good things about Acronis support because they issued an immediate refund with no questions asked. I am now going to Beta test TI 2011 in the hopes the issues I experienced have been corrected. I will continue to be a loyal Acronis customer because of their excellent service

Hello,

Kenneth, thank you very much for sharing your experience. We really appreciate your feedback on Acronis software.

JoeV, let me shed some light on your concern. We've tried to make a really rock-solid software and we're constantly improving it. Of course there are some issues, but all of them will be fixed soon. I recommend you to download the trial version of Acronis True Image Home in order to check how it works on your PC.

The functional limitation of Acronis True Image trial version is that you can only restore and validate an image when you run the program from the bootable media. Windows version is functional for 15 days only and it does not have any more limitations.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.
