Nonstop backup doesn't work

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I found this error: after pressing the start button the Nonstop backup suddenly stops itself.

My configuration is: Windows 8 64, Acronis True Image 2003

Thanks

To my knowledge there is no definite work around at this moment, I believe Acronis are aware of this.

This information may be useful: my hardware is Sony Vaio T13 Touch with 128 GB SSD. Maybe the SSD is the problem? I am not experienced this problem with Windows 7 with a hard drive...

It could prove useful if you could post a screen shot of the nonstop backup log file with the latest result line expanded to show its details. The screen area to post would be one containing any errors visible on the screen. This may help Acronis determine if you are experiencing the same issues with NSB that they are working on to resolve.

Your log file shows an error condition that I am also experiencing. I believe Acronis is aware of it and is working on a solution. In my case, the error is intermittent. I have done limited checking of restoring previous file versions, and it has been successful, in that I can restore at least some previous version of a file. I'm guessing that I might be missing versions when NSB is stopped, but at least the previous versions that are available are recoverable.

Acronis posted an updated driver here:

However, it would be best for you to get advise from Acronis about whether to try it.

Hi all,

I found the solution: Acronis True Image is not compatible with McAffe Anti-Theft service software. When I totally reinstalled my notebook Acronis worked smoothly but after installing Anti-Theft software the Acronis produced these symptoms again. I reinstalled my notebook to factory defaults again without anti-theft and finally, True Image works well.

I don't know how long NSB has continued to function correctly for you, but I would advise keeping an eye on it. I have no McAffe software on my system. NSB sometimes can run for many days for me before it stops with an error condition. It sometimes even manages to get past the error condition on its own for a while, but eventually fails again. My understanding is that Acronis is aware of issues with the NSB driver, and is actively looking for a fix.
