Nonstop backup keeps stopping
I have a windows 8 machine with True Image 2013 installed providing periodic full backup and running non-stop backup.
The full backup runs to schedule ok but the non-stop backup is giving me problems. Every time I start the computer it initially reports that the backup is running and providing protection but when I look a few minutes later it has switched off and I have to manually start it again from the True Image control app.
Once restarted it carries on running until the next time I start the computer when, inevitably it stops again.
I can't find anything in the event logs relating to this (based on looking for acronis or nonstopbackup) so I'm currently at a bit of a loss and tired of the very long restart time for the backup...
Any suggestions?

I was going to say that there aren't any events in the event log for any Acronis products but then thought to look in the Acronis control app itself - the problem appears to be down to I/O error but the fault event code is less than useful with zero information in the knowledge base.

Can you post a screen shot of the error message?

Screengrab attached but it really doesn't tell you anything at all...

It's an error that I have seen numerous times, Acronis is aware of it, and I'm still waiting for Acronis to release a fix. How often does it occur? If you manually restart NSB, how long does it take before it stops again? Also, are there any Windows updates waiting to be installed?

It tends to happen once about a minute or two after the machine is booted up - after that (and assuming I manually restart the backup) it works until it is shutdown.
No windows updates pending.
As a precaution, with the primary harddrive getting a bit long in the tooth, I'm going to ghost the drive onto a new one over the next few days to make sure it isn't a hard fault. I don't think it is as the regular periodic backup works just fine but I'm not going to risk it...

Acronis indicated to me that they believe it to be a fault in the NSB driver. When I encounter the error, Windows event viewer has never logged an error. I have also has NSB issues when my machines (one running W7 home premium, the other running Vista), would wake from sleep/hibernate mode.

That makes some sense as Windows 8 always tries to hibernate instead of shutting down.
I'll try forcing a shutdown instead and see if it makes any difference.
