Nonstop backup service is missing

Thread needs solution

Recently my automated backup tasks stopped working automatically. I read the forums and discovered I need two services:
Acronis Nonstop Backup Service
Acronis Scheduler2 Service

After clicking start run and typing services.msc, I discovered my Acronis Scheduler2 Service
was set correctly but my Acronis Nonstop Backup Service was missing.
How can I restore this service?

Hello Mark,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

Could you please clarify the version of Acronis True Image Home you are speaking about? According to our database, you are an owner of the Acronis True Image Home 2009 license. This version doesn't have Acronis Nonstop Backup service.

If you are using Acronis True Image Home 2010, please perform the repair installation of the program. If this doesn't help, remove the program using the appropriate Cleanup utility and install the software from the scratch. You may temporary disable your AntiVirus software and firewalls during the installation.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

Hello Mark,

Let me assist you further.

As Oleg mentioned Acronis Nonstop Backup feature was implemented only in Acronis True Image Home 2010. So it is quite normal that you don't have Acronis Nonstop Backup Service running.

As I understand, you have several scheduled tasks and for some reasons they stopped working? If so, I may suggest you to update Acronis Scheduler Module - a special module that is responsible for automated tasks.

  1. Download Acronis Scheduler, which is a special utility to update the scheduler service:

  2. Extract the downloaded file and run install.bat. The utility will automatically update the service;

    See if the issue is resolved. If it is not, then please proceed with steps 3 and 4:

  3. Reboot the machine;
  4. Recreate the scheduled tasks.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists or if you have any additional questions, I'll be glad to help you.

Thank you.

I created another backup task to backup certain game files. This task performed as expected automatically.
I then deleted my Sunday backup task and created a new Sunday task pointing to the same backup file on my G drive. This morning at 5:30 the task started automatically.
I'm now going to delete my Wednesday and Friday tasks and recreate them.
It looks like this method solved my problem.
I appreciate the responses provided by Oleg and Ilya.

This backup software has saved my bacon more then once and is very important to me.

Mark.
