This is not the last volume of the backup archive

Thread needs solution

I perform anywhere from 6-20 backups a day on various types of computers and this is the first time i have seen this message.

I made a backup of a users Documents to a network share. Reinstalled Windows on the machine and when i went back to restore their documents i got this message. It doesn't look good for the customers information but i was hoping there was something i could do to resolve it.

Thanks!

If this happens to anyone again, I used a program called "Getdataback" to retrieve the long lost data.

Similar situation. created a single backup of a Vista Laptop drive slaved to a second computer with Acronis 10. When I tried to copy data files to the restored Vista OS only, got the above error "This is not the last volume of the backup archive" (no error #). There is no other volumes??? Can't use "Getbackdata" drive has been wiped, formated and Win Vista installed. Any Ideas? Thanks

Same situation for me today with Acronis 2009. My computer failing to start I tried to restore the C: drive from a two-files backup (1 and 2) but got the message "This is not the last volume of the backup archive" (no error #).
But with a very old single-file (2009 brand new XP installation backup) it worked perfectly well.
Got some clues for that problem ?
