This is not the Last volume of the backup archive

Thread needs solution

Greetings,
I made a back up of my Hard Drive, validated it, had it stored on a separate internal drive and now when I try mount it as an image I get the error "This is not the Last volume of the backup archive"

And when I try to view the files with in the .tib file I get this error code.
0x01010005+0x01010005+0x01E50015+0x01E5001A+0x000B041D+0x00040011+0x0000FFF0+0x8007000

I ran Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier to see if there were any bad sectors/files and everything turned out clean. I would very much like to gain access to the file, I do not need everything in it, but there are some things I would very much like to get access to. I read somewhere that the .tib file can be "pruned" in order to get access to the contents (despite losing what was cut off) but I cannot seem to find out how to do that.

Any type of help would be appreciative. Thank you.

Did you save the backup to a DVD or something?

So, from ATI perspective, your backup chain is corrupted. You might have renamed, moved or deleted a file in the chain manually, or some other setting might have been changed in the backup settings resulting in ATI not finding all the files in the set necessary. Remember that all full and incremental parts need to be intact in the places where they were created.
It could also be the case that ATI cannot access the backup location, but since this is an internal HDD, it is unlikely.
Start a new task and see if the problem subsists.

I greatly appreciate the help.
Though I am not sure what you mean by starting a new task.
Do another back? Is the back the file lost?

About losing the current backup, it depends. Can you post a screenshot of the directory containing the backup files and tell us which on is failing?

Yes, another backup task would need a new backup.

Sorry for the delay.
Here is a screen shot of the file and its location per your request.
I plan on doing another back up task tonight.

Wedge Antillies,

I think you might be out of luck as you only have one full image in your archive. Is this the original and only file?

What happens if you try to 'explore' the image instead of mounting? I expect the same result but it is worth a try.

The only other thing that can be tried is to move the file to another folder and see if it becomes mountable.

If though there should be other files there you will need to put them all together in the same folder so they can be mounted or explored.

You must have renamed the file manually since ATI adds some extensions automatically... Do not change the name of the file manually. Let ATI add its extensions: it tries to keep track of where it put its archive files and when it cannot find them, it throws errors.

Yup. Did the whole drive as one file. There were no other files.

I get this error code:
Event code: 0x01010005+0x01010005+0x01E50015+0x01E5001A+0x000B041D+0x00040011+0x0000FFF0+0x80070002

Still getting the same error.

I did, but not until I was getting the errors. I was getting the same errors with the original file name as well.

Looks like I am SoL. That sucks.
I take it there is no program out there that can go in a read the contents of these files?

Unfortunately not. You have to create a new backup file.

Wedge,

Have you tried moving the file to another hard drive or partition? Even though you have already tried sector checking software, it might have missed something and moving the file to another hard drive can sometimes correct that problem. Have you also tried accessing it via the recovery media (CD or USB)?
