NTLDR missing
I have Windows XPH 32bit O.S. on Partition C, and TIH 2011 Plus Non-Stop BackUp on Partition G.
The first time I tried to restore Partition C, it failed, stating that "NTLDR is missing". Subsequent boot-ups always halt at this point, including when booting from the Acronis CD. Using the Windows XP CD Repair facility, warns that the MBR might be non-standard (I seem to remember Acronis actually does this) in which case FIXMBR could screw-up everything permanently.
Can someone please tell me how to fix this (and avoid it in future Restores)? I am not an I.T. professional, so please take it step-by-step.

Many thanks for your suggestions, Pat 1. I'm afraid I didn't get far with them, not being one of the cognoscenti, but I have just managed to fix things. Fortunately, I also took straight back-ups of the most important partitions. I restored the "C" partition from them, but this put the restored "C" INTO the existing "C" partition, no matter what I tried. So, I deleted the rump of contents from the "C" partition, except for the restored "C" file therein. I dragged all the files from the "C" file out into the stripped "C" partition and mercifully this did the trick
Thanks again for your support, it's nice to know there is help out there!
