OK - feeling really stupid

Thread needs solution

Don't know why my last post didn't show up. I'm trying to recover a backup and failing miserably. I loaded Windows 7 on a new hard drive, then loaded Acronis 2014. Then I tried to restore my backup. The PC, however, is now having boot issues. What have I done wrong?

PS - I could not find the bootable media disk, so I loaded Windows first. Will this work?

To restore a drive or partition, boot from the ATI bootable Rescue Media. You may download its .iso from your Acronis.com account, and burn it to a CD-R.

Do you still have the 500 installed and bootable?

When you make your backup, did you include ALL partitions including the hidden non-lettered partitions?
If yes, a restore should work.
If no, you will need to remake the backp like the instructions in my signature link 2-A below.

When restoring to the new disk,
try using the instructions listed in my signature lnk 3, item 2 inside that link--disk option restore.
This restore is done when booted from the TI Recovery CD.
The 1TB needs to be installed inside the computer in place of the 500.

If you do not have a TI Recovery CD, use the instructions listed in my signature link 9 below.
Picture 7 shows where and what to download from your personal Aconis account.
