Once again Acronis Marketing Dept. left itself open to being shot in the foot!

Thread needs solution

On the US and UK based websites there is a marketing promotion on the 25 days of Christmas theme.

Today's sales offer is buy TI 2010 and get 25GB of OLB free for a year. (14 Dec 2009)

Fine, no problem there except, they have forgotten that OLB is not available to all countries, so there is no exception notice or 'available only in' etc.

Marketing has to realise, that many people will use the Acronis.com website, even if Acronis have provided a specific country based one.

It isn't a problem for me, but like the idea of a 2010/DD10 bundle, the promotion leaves Acronis open to much needless anger and disappointment, when it could all so easily be headed off at the pass.

I am not suggesting that Acronis put in geoblocking software so that you can only ever visit your own country's Acronis website, that would be mad.

Just that the promotion people think through their ' hey I've got an idea, let's do it' , with some 'what if..., oh let's think about......, what happens if......', 'how would our customers view that statement'

Today's deal is ATI 2010 with free "Plus Pack". No precise description of what that "Plus Pack" is. Plus if you click on the "Get It Now" button, you get to a shopping cart where only ATI 2010 is listed. No traces of a free "Plus Pack".

There's no way to trust that this promotion is honest.

Hello all,

Thank you for this report. I will forward this information to our Marketing Team and ask them to check and update the promotion.

Thanks,
