Online Backup hangs right from the beginning

Thread needs solution

After I could create Online Backups successfully during the past weeks, I am gettings problems as of today.

When I start an Online Backup, it says "calculating..." and stays at 0% forever. It is even not possible to cancel the Backup, I have to reboot my computer.

My Internet Connection is doing fine.

Are there any known issues with the Online Storage currently?

It seems the problem just resolved itself......it just started to back up, after 30 mins of waiting.

The reliability of this Online Storage does not seem to be the best one.

I have had nothing but problems with the On-line backup and it started sometime in December 2011. After caculating the backup size it aborts with an error the information provided by Acronis is minimal at best and their support is non-existent. I was hoping to find answers in this forum. I am discontinuing my Acronis on-line and switching to Carbonite

Anton - it is correct that the issue is resolved. However, the issue resolved itself - which means after some time the online backup just started working. The problem was related to issues with the online storage.

I would suggest that Acronis builds a status page for the online storage - so users do not waste their time with investigating potential issues on their computer / network, and to avoid tickets.

I've been using TIH2012 for some time and I just created an account for online backup yesterday. I'm also getting this same problem of online backup hanging. The status shows 'Calculating (1576Mbit/s)' but never moves off zero. The log file shows a couple of warning messages: 'No windows libraries' and 'The end of the file has been reached'. Is this related to the above problems with the storage server, or should I raise a support incident about this?

An update: this has now started working for me. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and the real-time protection was disabled. After I enabled it the online backup kicked into life. So I guess it was related to that.

Anton, Let me be clear, I have True Home 2011 and sometime in December of 2011 the online backup stopped working, it calculates and the starts but after about 5 minutes it stops with the message "Online backup was interrupted", When I look at the Log for today I see the following I noticed from the log it is analyzing drive J just before it stops, Drive J is an external hardrive with a USB connection. I haven't specified Drive J for backup so I don't know why it is backing up. I would appreciate help in solving this problem.
