Thread needs solution

Using the trial version; windows update installed new software during a backup and tried to restart. I got the above message. Waiting a couple of hours now; I cannot access my task manager to stop the back up. Can I power down without harming my computer?

Yes, you can.
When you start up, launch ATI, and, for the backup tasks:
- go to the backup options, go to the validation settings, click on the default "monthly" schedule blue link, and uncheck all advanced settings scheduling options there,
- click on the schedule of the backup, and there as well, uncheck the advanced setting option, in particular the one that "wait for the computer to be idle".
