Operations in Progress at Shutdown - Backup validation failed message at reboot!

Hi,

Just like the title says. Could not shut down for 15 minutes and later at reboot Acronis logs said that backup operation failed. Funny thing is that I had not scheduled any backups. Seems to keep a list of all the backups and try to update them I think. So I deleted each item in the backup menu. Hope that doesn't mess anything up, but how do you turn off background backup processes from taking place?
