PC crashed, now can't reinstall 2015

Thread needs solution

Hi. I'm on Win 10 home edition. My PC crashed earlier today. I was able to recover with the Win 10 reset function, which keeps my files and reloads Windows. I use Acronis True image 2015 (never upgraded to 2016). I downloaded 2015 fron the web site and installed. When i entered my 2015 serial number, it said it was an upgrade and I need the serial number from the previous version, which was True Image 11 (which was on window 7 before I upgraded to Win 10). I do not have the serial number for that version. Is there any way to get 2015 (which I did pay for last year), reloaded on my system?. Or, is there a way to recover my old serial number from Acronis?

Thanks,

Mike.

Mike, your serial number for True Image 11 should be listed in your account at www.acronis.com if you registered it. Log in to your account and you should be able to access it.

Thanks Tom. I'm not sure if I registered it (it was a long time ago.) I believe that I might have a copy of True Image 11 on an old laptop. If so, can I recover it from there?

Not sure. TI 11 is very old. Try looking in Help-->About. You may have to contact Acronis Support to get help with this. https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/contact-us.html. Choose Customer Care then at the right Choose Serial Number Issues.

Hey Tom,

I logged into my account on the Acronis web site, and as I suspected, True Image 11 wasn't there. Only 2015 and Disk Director were. But, guess what? I found the serial number for 11 ! Believe it or not, it was in a box of old 3' diskettes! Why I ever put it there, i'll never know :).  I guess that shows just how old 11 is!

I was able to use that serial number to upgrade back to 2015 (yeah!). It also recognized all my backup archives (of course there are on external drives.)

Thanks again for your help.

Mike.

Glad you were able to install TI 2015.
