PC-Shutdown after starting boot loader

Thread needs solution

Hello experts,

I've successfully made a backup of my acer-netbook with atih11, and when I now want to recover this backup, system makes a restart, starts acronis boot loader,
then system shows the two time indicator lines, and then suddenly
makes a restart and nothing was done.

What could be the issue of this ?
Must I prepare a acronis-USB-recovery and start from this ?
or take newer atih version ?

It's hard to say what the problem is. could be the loader doesn't work on your hardware, or it's a corrupted loader, or wrong drivers. Have you tried making a bootCD to see if the works?

If the boot cd doesn't work either you can log in to the acronis web site, go to your registred products and download the iso for the boot cd, burn it to disk and see if that one works -- the downloadable bootcd is often diff than the one in the program.

If that doesn't work, you can try, a newer version -- ATI dates back to 2008.

You could try reinstalling to repair any corrupted program files -- iirc, ati11 doesn't have a repair option listed so you probably have to jsut install again.

With bart, you run a version of ATI the operates under Windows -- all other versions actually boot up into linux, so you can avoid driver and linux loader issues by using the bart method -- generally, if the program ran under windows to make a backup then it should run under the bart disk to do a restore since the Bart disk will use windows and the same drivers. Note that creating the the bart disk is not for the faint of heart.
