Yesterday I found that since 30 July 2011, W.D. has been sending Everyone to this Site to Download this Program. My Problem is, I Can't get it to work.? There are No Instructions on How To Recover the Partitions, ect.! My HD shows as empty and when I TRY to add, It wants Me to Format ect. my Brain is Totally Fried after 2 Weeks of 16-18 Hr days. Hi there,

If your drive shows empty and/or Windows tells you you have to format it, you need a recovery program, not a backup program like Acronis.

With regards to recovery programs, you have to try several of them, or bring your computer to a computer repair shop. Some programs show you what you can recover, but you have to pay to actually recover information. Not all programs do a good job depending on the issue with your disk.
If I were you, and if my data was that important, I would bring the disk to a specialist.

For me was RECUVA successfull. I quick formatted the drive and was able to recover all files I knew with that drive.

I've Tried Recuva already, but I'll give It one more shot. But with a 2TB HD and My Ancient Dual Hamster Laptop, it takes a full 24 Hrs to run. I've also tried Pandora, EasyRecoveryProfessional, EASEUS, MiniTool, and Way Too many Other Programs to Remember, (Even if I had a Memory).!
I called every Computer Shop,(Except Geek Squad), in a 30+ Mile radius, and I couldn't find anyone, who knows as much as I do.? And I'm more of a Techie than a Geek. One Guy told Me, " If You Format a disk, it Erasres All The Data on It, and Then there's No Way to Recover the Data".!?!?!?!? DUH
Since I'm basically bedridden in Extreme Chronic Pain, I need something to occupy Myself, So I Sail The 7 Cyberseas Pillaging and Plundering as A Pirate. The Love of My Life, after God, Country and Family, is The Finding, Restoring, then Seeding, of the most obscure B&W Bad B-Movies in the Sci Fi and Horror genres. I Try to stay in Public Domain, but it is possible some Movies on My Broken HD may be still Copywrited.?
Most of My Movies are Irreplaceable, I sometimes spend as much as 100+ Hrs, just trying to find a workable copy, Then I may spend another 100-200 Hrs of Computer time filtering, sharpening ect to get a Movie into Watchable Condition. Since "The King of B-Movies". Roger Corman, never Copywrited His Early Work, I have Movies by HIM, that aren't even listed by IMDB or WIKI.! Of course even He can't remember exactly just how many Movies He made. So if I don't know The Name, No way I'll ever Luck up and find the Movie again.
Guess it's time to get back to watching the HD turn...LOL...Maybe later Today, I'll Try to get to the porch and watch the grass grow instead. Take Care Mates...xoxoBATxoxo
