Plus 2010 pack and problem - surprised?-SOLVED

Thread needs solution

Bit the bullet tonight and got the 2010 Plus pack so I could build a Win7PE with TI 2010 plugin

Am Upgrading to Windows 7 and wanted a PE to do backups. I have a VistaPE built with Mustangs PEBuilder

Have Mustangs PEBuilder 2 and 2010 plugin but can't get it to work properly with Windows 7 - he says it works with pre release Win 7 (7000)

Anyway installed the pack and tried to build by following instructions on the Knowledge base and HElp file
Using Windows 7 WAIK

Got the very helpful "Error occurred while creating image"

Anyone managed to get it to work?

Just answering my own question

I got the TI 2010 Plus PE Builder working. I followed the instructions to build a WIM image rather than an ISO- I got the error message above trying to create a direct ISO- . I then converted the WIM to ISO using the example commands in the Plus Help file.

ISO boots OK and backs up and restores

USing 6029 versions of both programmes

The ISO itself boots or did you burn it to a CD as usual?

I use Grubdos so I boot the ISO directly off a USB mem stick

I didn't try it booting off a CD

Ah ... that's a bit much for me. But glad you got it going.

It is easy- just follow MudCrab's guide http://www.themudcrab.com/acronis_grub4dos.php

It makes upgrades so easy. I just remake the ISO for each upgrade. I currently have VistaPE TI2009 and 2010 versions, the Linux versions from True Image 2009 and 2010 plus a VistaPE made with Mustangs 2009 plugin all on the USB stick. I have just added a Win 7 PE made by TI Plus as mentioned above

I just select which one I want to boot from the menu after GrubDos does the initial boot.

Just an update

Mustang has updated his 2010 plugin and PE Builder 2 so it works with WIn 7 release candidate so I can now build a Win7PE image with TI plugin with Acronis TIPlus and Mustangs PE Builder 2

Mustangs PE Builder is the cheaper and easier to use. The plugin also gives you more features than the TI plugin
