Is this posible to achieve?

Thread needs solution

Hello folks

I am thinking of purchasing Acronis, however I have a question.

I have a 1TB drive which holds both Windows 7 and Linux Mint 13. My question is;

Can I use Acronis to back up or take an image of the HD so that I can restore it at a later date should something go wrong with either OS?

I hope I made that clear, if not feel free to ask questions :P

ATI uses file system information to determine which sectors to back up. It supports the following file systems:
FAT16/32
NTFS
Ext2/Ext3/Ext4*
ReiserFS*
Linux SWAP*

You would install ATI in Windows 7 and you should be able to take an image of any partition of any disk, provided this partition is using one of the above file systems.

Worst case, you would use the Acronis recovery CD to backup your disk.

Restore processes should be done from the recovery CD anyway.

So you have to try ATI on your system and verify that you (a) you can backup from Windows, (b) you can use the Acronis recovery CD on your computer.

Thanks for your help. I will give it a whirl. I am just getting my setttings etc the way I want them on both windows 7 and Linux Mint. Once that is done I will use ATI to take an image.
