Problem after cloning

Thread needs solution

For the first time I had to clone back from the d drive to the c drive, although I have used true image for years. I had cloned the c drive to the d drive yesterday, this morning a power problem currupted the c drive. I clonerd the d drive back to the c drive, since then when I try to enter either windows explorer or enter the computer icon, I get the message " No such interface supported" Now I thought that acroniss producted an exact copy to a drive so why am I getting this message? Any help please.

It could have to do with how it was cloned, especially since it sounds like you had the original cloned drive connected. If you left the "d" drive connected after cloning back to the "c" drive that can cause problems. It's best to do the first boot-up without any other Windows drives connected so Windows can adjust.

A Google search for "No such interface supported" brings up several links that you may find helpful. Or you might try doing the clone again and making sure the "d" drive is not connected when you boot "c" for the first time.

I want to install a new C drive in my computer and install Win 7 Ultimate but I want to leave old C drive in computer for a short time to copy some files to new drive. My problem is that I will have two bootable drives unless I can fix the original C drive not to boot, but still be readable for copy puposes. Is there a file or files that I can delete on original C Drive to acomplish this or any other method that will work? Any help will be very appreciated my mind has drawn a blank. I know this can be done but am completely Blank as to how.

ps:Both drives are or will be Win7 Ultimate until copying is finished.

Bob,
If you remove the old drive during the installtion of Windows 7, and place your new drive on the same controller connection as the original was on, you will not have any problems after you reconnect you old drive to a different controller connection. You do not need to do anything to the old Windows installation. You may want to check your BIOS setting and be sure that the boot order is set to the new drive (should be on a primary channel)

Thanks James F. I will try it this afternoon and see if I can follow instructions.I will post the results either way. Thanks again.
