Problem with incremental backup v7046

Thread needs solution

Hi

I am ising v7046 to backup my c: drive , here's the setup .
Pc with true image installed , backing up to a network drive , WD sharespace 4tb .
I have it set to incremental backup and set amount of backup days to 15 days .

When i first setup the task it ran just fine , it did a full backup of my c: drive ,next day it did its first incremental no problems ,
this carried on for a couple of weeks.
Now when it does its daily backup its says it takes 49.710 days , in real time it takes about 5 hours .

My questions are , why does it take so long , the contents of the drive it backs up are hardly changed , it used to take justa few mins to do the incremental backup , now it takes hours . (xp 64bit)

So i experimented , i installed v7046 on my win 7 pc , and setup exactly the same task , everyday , incremental , max 15 days of backups, and set it going .
First night it did the full backup as expected , and the following nights its did the incrementals quite fast , 15-30 mins a time , untill a couple of days ago then it started to do the same as my other pc , says its going to take 49.710 days , and in reality it takes about 8 hours to complete the task .

Why ? i dont understand . Why should a backup thats tiny take so long , why did it work perfectly for a week or 2 then goto this situation ?

Any / all help would be appreciated .

Thank you

With your described setup I can think of one thing that would cause the long completion time, which is the network setup, it might be timing out.

The best way to check if you can is to attach the external drive via a USB connection, make a new set of tasks duplicating your current ones, and see if the problem remains.

Have you changed anything on the network at all or added to both computers new hardware such as card readers etc?
