Problem with OEM partition (Windows 8.1)

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone

I have problem when trying to backup the OEM-Partition of Windows 8.1: Under the volume selection, the partition is marked as 'Unnamed volume' and there is remark saying 'that this volume can only be backed up sector-by-sector'.

However, when I try to backup this volume sector-by-sector, I run into an 'Out-of-memory'-error... Now my question is, if this is really the real problem, or am I doing something wrong? The partition is only 7 GB. I have successfully backed up many other partitions without any problems and these were a lot bigger...

This problem prevents me of having a full disk backup.

My system's setup is the following:
Windows 8.1, 64 Bit
Memory: 8 GB
Lenovo, X1 Carbon

Any help is much appreciated

Thank you very much
Cheers

Yeah.. THese OEM partitions are creating problems for many users, I don't know why. You could try to assign a drive letter to that partition, and then use the Windows disk checking utility. Otherwise, you might have to leave the partition out (this is what I did with 2 Lenovo's)
