Problems with Faux Glass UI Effects, Very Inefficient

Thread needs solution

I've been using TI for some time now, just download TI Home 2010.

I've got this running on a modest XP computer with a regular built-in graphics adapter. The UI is terribly slow, can't drag some windows, they flicker when opening/closing, etc. In short, the silly glass UI is easily the most processor intensive aspect of this product.

Is there any way to disable the fake aero-glass transparent windows and other UI effects and have just regular, normal UI? My graphics drivers are fine, no other product exhibits this problem.

thanks.....

Hello Robert,

We're really sorry for the difficulties you've experienced.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to turn that glass Vista-like UI off in the current version of the software. I have forwarded your request to the responsible department, so most likely this feature will be implemented in future builds/versions of the software.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

I am having the same problem, only it is much more serious than an aesthetic / performance issue:
I have Windows XP Pro, SP3 and upgraded from Acronis True Image 11 to Acronis True Image Home 2010.
I did a full system drive backup with 11 just prior to upgrade.
When I installed and started 2010, all open windows - not just Acronis - would start flickering and became unresponsive.
I cannot even bring up the Start Menu, as the window opens & closes in a sub-second flash.

I did not have these screen issues with any program other than 2010. Acronis True Image 11 works fine.
I don't even have to use Acronis 2010 for the problem to occur - just having the 2010 service running makes all open windows unresponsive.
Just having Acronis 2010 on my machine makes it unusable.

I have to say that I am very disappointed, and must now revert to Acronis 11. Please escalate this problem's severity - essentially the machine is unusable. Contact me if you need more diagnostic information, I would be happy to supply you with details on symptoms and exact environment.

Thanks,
