Problems with network backup using WHS and TI2011 on the same client PC

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I have a Windows 7 x64 home premium machine with TI 2011 + PP and the Windows Home Server Connector installed on it. My backup strategy is to create local backups to the Acronis secure zone on the client PC and take Windows Home Server backups to the Home server on the network in case the local disk fails completely.

This has worked well for me until I updated Acronis to the latest build recently. Now what happens is that Acronis backups work fine, but WHS backups cause the client to crash and reboot part way through the process.

I hae run checkdisk etc and there are no bad sectors on the local PC. I also rebuilt the PC from scratch and tried it all again on a clean build to see if there was something I had installed over time that might have caused it.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this and are there any known issues with the WHS connector and TI2011 on a local Win7x64 PC????

thanks

Tino

Ok, more info that suggests a conflict.

If I stop the Acronis Nonstop Backup Service and the Acronis Scheduler2 Service the WHS backup of the client PC works perfectly.

Go figure.

There looks like a definite conflict between something in this build and the WHS connector software.

Getting an official "We'll look into this" would be nice.
