Problems restoring backup made wirth trial version

Thread needs solution

Hi, I made a backup using the trial version of ATI 2009. Now, if I try to restore data from this backup using my regular version of ATI 2009, I get the following error message:

Error opening the archive

The file containing the archive is defect. You may try to mount the image and restore the files (translated from german, I don't know the exact wordings)

Mounting the image gives the same error message.

Now my questions are: Is this because I made the backup using the trial version or do I really got a defective backup? Later backups on the same USB disk made with the regular version are ok.

Either way, is there a way to restore some files from the backup.

Regards

Ralf

Using the trial version shouldn't have mattered.

Is the image contained completely in a single file or is it split into several files? Is it a Full image or an Incremental or Differential?

I would try using the same build that created the image and see if it works any better. Do you still have the trial version's CD available?

Trying the TI 2011 trial version is another option. You may want to backup the system first so you can easily restore back to TI 2009 if you don't have an easy way to test it (VM, alternate PC, etc.).

I tried already the old downloaded trial version on a fresh installed system, but got the same error.
The TI 2011 version (downloaded rescue cd) got an error even on my working backups. But I havn't yet tried an installed trial version.
The image is a single file incremental backup, but I only made the first backup to it, no updates afterwards.

Hi, I made a backup image from a Windows Server 2008 using the trial version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10, I'm trying to restore the image onto another machine (Windows Server 2008) using the same trial version, the recovery windows cannot be loaded after Windows reset.

I tried second restore using the trial version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 with Universal Restore, after the recovery done, Windows failed to boot.

Is there a way for me to restore using the trial version?

Any comment/assistance is highly appreciated.

Thank you.
