Problems restoring from DVDs

I upgraded to True Image Premium 2014 and soon after encountered ransomware, then spent the last two weeks tring to recover an image from DVDs that I've validated.

Some functions of the product that don't seem to be working for me:

1. at the end of apparently copying the first (last vol of the chain) DVD to an external USB drive using the Move function, the operation terminates and reports that it wasn't copied.

2. booting from the 2014 rescue CD reports that it can't find version 4 of the backup, contrary to the fact that there is only one version of the backup which I've placed in the drive after the rescue CD has been fully loaded and used the Browse button to specify.
File name: C_(C)_full_b1_s1_v5.tib.

3. So, I tried recovering the image from the DVDs starting in Windows. It didn't complain about not finding version 4, but crashed during the reboot half of the process with the message: "Starting Acronis Loader..." followed by about 20 noise (smilely face, etc.) characters, and froze the machine.

First, any suggestions about what I might try to restore my system?

Second, maybe some of these problems are due to my not doing something right, but all of them?!

I finally used Windows Explorer to copy the image volumes from DVDs to an external hard drive and thus managed to recover my data. Would have been better practice to do so with the True Image Move operation if it was working for me.

I printed out the manual and spent quite a bit of time reading it. It's well written and I found features I didn't know about that impressed me.

But Acronis has to improve its software quality.

It's reputation for unreliable - disaster recovery, of all things - software is causing it lost sales.
