QoS for Online Backup

Thread needs solution

Rather than throttling bandwidth utilization with the Storage Connection Speed control, I'm thinking about lowering the priority of the network traffic using QoS in my router. My thinking is when no one else needs the bandwidth the online backup can have it all. What're your thoughts? Now, in order to setup QoS I need to know the ports the online backup uses. I believe they are 55556 and 44445. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Bob,

Let me help you.

Yes, it is possible to use QoS to limit the bandwidth used by Acronis Online Backup Service.

And you're absolutely correct, the ports and hostnames are:

  • Hostname: ma90049.plusserver.de; Port: 55556
  • Hostname: storage3.acronis-hosting.com; Port: 44445
  • SSL port: 443

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

Thanks very much for this! These QoS rules worked perfectly on an Asus RT-AC68U router when running TrueImage 2014.
