Realign SSD
Before purchasing Acronis TI 2013, I cloned an HD to an SSD. I think the SSD is not properly aligned, since I've read that there should be a 100MB empty partition (or whatever it's called) before the actual start of data on the SSD so that all the data blocks will function on the proper boundaries. Mine only has 40M. My SSD performance is much below what I think it should be, and I think it is because of alignment. This is an Intel M-25 128Gb SSD.
So, I purchased TI 2013, with the idea of saving the data off the SSD, cleaning the SSD of data, and replacing the data with the proper alignment. Reading the documentation and help leaves me with some doubt about how to proceed. I don't want to simply put all the data back into the exact locations it is now, which would defeat the purpose. I want it to be properly aligned.
A dedicated 'Align SSD' command is exactly what is needed, but I don't find a feature like that.
Can anyone provide the correct procedure for performing this process? Reinstallation of Windows is out of the question. This must retain everything as it is running now, as a business depends on it.
Thanks,
John
