Reboot during backp
Hi Folks -
Two days ago True Image 20015 (Build 6613) started to reboot my machine (Win 7 64 Ultimate) after about 1/3 to 1/2 way through a sector by sector image backup of my C drive. Has now happened 4 times in a row. No new hardware, no errors in hardware or software other than a failed attempt by a Windows support person to install Win 10 on my machine - so it reverted to Win 7. I purchased TI 2015 through Cleverbridge so no backup disks?
Any thoughts, info and/or help would be greatly appreciated, as this program has been flawless for me, as well as 2013 and 2011 versions.
Thanks
Jonathon

Hi Steve -
Thanks for the info in your response. I had not understood there was an .iso version to download for me.
I was doing a sector by sector image of my OS drive in prep for upgrading to Win 10. I thought it would be the safest and most secure way to restore my Win 7 if things got totally messed up.......and of course they did ..by a MS tech person.
My experience with TI 2015 is that it did not copy the blank areas when doing a sector by sector image backup. I have used it for years that way and always got backups that reflected only the "data" on the drive being backed up.
This is not true with TI 2015 and backing up with Win 10. Then it backs up the entire dirve anfd reflects the total drive size in the backup.
I did run Chkdsk on all my drives as I was preparing to attempt an upgrade to Win 10. Everything reported as fine and everything was runnning smoothly when I started the image backup.....then the reboot happened in the middle. I had never had a True Image backup process fail before, or even not verify. The reboot happened 3 times in 3 successive image back up attemps.
So after the horror of the Win 10 upgrade...at least there is no reboot during the image backups with TI 2015
(See my latest post for more Win 7 to 10 info)
Thanks again for all your help!
