Recovering using a maxblast backup using bootable media

Has anyone tried to recover from a maxblast backup using the Acronis True Image Home (2010) bootable media?
I'm able to read the maxblast files from when in windows, but when doing a recovery using the bootable media, I get an error. I have to use an actual maxblast bootable media. You would think that Acronis should be able to read the files since maxblast is powered by Acronis.
