Recovery

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of recovering my 1 Tb drive with an 80 Gb image off an external USB2 drive via the Acronis boot-up disc i created.

I'm following this basic tutorial:

http://www.whatsabyte.com/P1/Acronis_restore.htm

Problem is, it's taking forever to do. I'm guessing 5-6 hours at least!

What time scale should i be looking at, or is there an easier way to do this.

I've done thid before and i'm sure it took an hour or so to do.

Please help.

What version and build of TI are you using?

From a USB 2 drive, you should normally see a 1GB+/min. transfer rate. If it's a lot slower, it's usually because the Linux drivers are not optimized for the controller.

When you did a restore before, was it on this same computer using the same version and build of TI?

Ver. 11.0 build 8,101

Previously it was with the same TI as above, same pc, but it may have been the image created was from a 500 Gb drive to a 1 Tb dive, and i'm sure i went through several other steps not outlined in that tutorial.

As the 80 Gb image was from the same drive (1 Tb) that i want to recover is that tutorial correct or do i need to use this one:

I've recently transferred over 100 Gb of data from the USB drive to the primary drive without issues (i think)

Which guide is used shouldn't affect the restore speed.

Was the other restore from the USB drive or was the backup image on an internal drive?
